Srinagar, Sep 1 (SocialNews.XYZ) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the enhancement in the ease of doing business across the union territory.
Office of the Chief Minister said on X, “Chief Minister today chaired a comprehensive review meeting on enhancing the Ease of Doing Business across Jammu and Kashmir. The Chief Minister called for targeted reforms to remove bottlenecks, simplify compliances and reduce delays, thereby creating a supportive ecosystem for investment, innovation and economic growth.”
During the meeting, the Chief Minister called for targeted reforms to identify and remove bottlenecks and reduce delays in business-related processes.
He stressed the need for a more supportive and facilitative business environment to encourage investment, promote innovation and accelerate economic growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Minister emphasised that streamlining procedures and addressing existing impediments would help create a more conducive ecosystem for businesses and investors across the union territory.
The concerned departments were directed to focus on reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business and facilitating economic activity in Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir has accelerated Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) reforms through digitisation, compliance reduction, and the launch of the J&K Single Window System to create a business-friendly environment.
The UT was recognised as a top achiever and ranked 5th among all Indian states and union territories under the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP).
The government eliminated the requirement for numerous pre-requisite No Objection Certificates (NoCs), reducing clearances to a bare minimum for setting up business units.
The J&K Single Window System integrates multiple departmental portals to provide end-to-end online Government-to-Business (G2B) services.
Measures include self-certification, curbs on repeated inspections, and removing obsolete compliance requirements.
CM Abdullah continues to chair comprehensive review meetings to target remaining bottlenecks, simplify compliance, and reduce administrative delays.
The administration has advanced proposals for time-bound inspection reports, digitised procedures, and sector-specific streamlining for commercial establishments, tourism, and education.
